These are the cheapest hours of light this Wednesday, July 20

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise 6.99% this Wednesday, standing at 228.78 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), including the cost of the 'pool' and compensation to gas companies, compared to 213.83 euros today, according to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), collected by Servimedia.

The price of the 'pool' will remain at 147.54 euros, 3.65% more than the 142.35 euros of this Tuesday. This value will range between 137.47 euros between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 154.35 euros between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

On the other hand, the amount of gas compensation will reach 81.24 euros per MWh, compared to 71.48 euros this Tuesday, which translates into a drop of 13.65%. The figure is 48.8% lower than the 158.67 euros of compensation on Wednesday of last week.

The compensation will reach its highest peak between 04:00 and 05:00 with 119.51 euros and the lowest will be between 13:00 and 14:00 with 59.42 euros.

In short, the 228.78 euros per MWh will represent a decrease of 28.08% compared to the 318.12 euros of Wednesday of last week and 5.02% more than the 217.85 euros of a month ago, on June 20.

In a year-on-year comparison, this Tuesday there will be a 126% increase in price since on July 20 of last year the price was 101.11 euros per MWh.
