These are the cheapest hours of electricity for this Wednesday, August 31

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise 3.7% tomorrow Wednesday and will stand at 476.39 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), with the cost of the 'pool' and compensation to gas companies, compared to at 459.4 euros this Tuesday. This makes it the second highest in the historical series, according to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia.
The price of electricity thus closes the most expensive month in history with an average of 307.8 euros per MWh, surpassing the month of March. In that month, what continues to be the historical maximum of the 'pool' took place, reaching 544.98 euros per MWh on March 8. The price of this Wednesday will also exceed that of March 9, when 472.97 euros were registered and will climb to second place in the historical series.
The price of the 'pool' will remain at 187.30 euros, 7.26% less than the 201.96 euros of this Tuesday. The most expensive time will be between 00:00 and 01:00, when the price will rise to 227.82 euros, while the cheapest will be between 16:00 and 17:00 at 156.25 euros.
For its part, the amount of gas compensation will reach 289.09 euros, compared to 257.44 euros today, which translates into an increase of 12.29%. It will be the largest amount of gas compensation since its introduction, exceeding the 263.9 euros per MWh that were paid on August 24.

In a year-on-year comparison, this Wednesday there will be a 265% increase in price, since on August 31 of last year the price was 130.53 euros per MWh.
