The average price of electricity in the wholesale market rose 0.82% this Wednesday, standing at 264.10 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), with the cost of the 'pool' and compensation to gas companies, compared to the 261.95 euros today.

According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, the price of electricity has already risen for three days after falling below 200 euros per MWh on Sunday for the first time since July 7.

The price of the 'pool' remains at 147.85 euros, 2.3% less than the 151.29 euros of today Tuesday.

For its part, the amount of gas compensation reaches 116.25 euros per MWh, compared to 110.66 euros today, which translates into a rise of 5.1%. The figure is also 9.2% higher than the 106.41 euros of compensation on Wednesday of last week.

In a year-on-year comparison, this Wednesday an increase in price of 148.5% was registered since on August 3 of last year the price was 106.27 euros per MWh.
