The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will drop 0.4% this Wednesday and will stand at 236.14 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), with the cost of the 'pool' and compensation to gas companies, compared to at 237.1 euros this Tuesday, according to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia.
The price of the 'pool' will remain at 139.3 euros, 2.72% less than the 143.2 euros of this Tuesday. The most expensive time will be between 07:00 and 08:00, when the price will rise to 172.01 euros, while the cheapest will be between 18 and 19 hours, at 99.67 euros.
For its part, the amount of gas compensation will reach 96.84 euros, compared to 93.9 euros today, which translates into an increase of 3.13%.

In short, the 301.31 euros per MWh that will be registered this Wednesday represent a drop of 14.94% compared to the 277.63 euros of Tuesday of last week. Instead, it is 0.93% higher than that of a month ago, July 17.
In a year-on-year comparison, this Wednesday there will be a rise of 168%, since on August 17 of last year the price was 89.5 euros per MWh.
