These are the cheapest hours of electricity for this Friday, August 12

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise 9% this Friday and will stand at 301.31 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), with the cost of the 'pool' and compensation to gas companies, compared to 276.32 euros this Thursday.

According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, the price of electricity continues to rise for another day.

The price of the 'pool' remains at 158.25 euros, 5.4% more than the 150.13 euros this Thursday. The most expensive time will be between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., when the price will rise to 182.78 euros, while the cheapest will be between 5 and 6 p.m., at 124.69 euros.

For its part, the amount of gas compensation will reach 143.06 euros, compared to 126.21 euros today, which translates into an increase of 13.4%.

In short, the 301.31 euros per MWh that will be registered this Friday represent a rise of 25.9% compared to the 239.32 euros on Friday of last week. Instead, it is 1.6% lower than that of a month ago, July 12.

In a year-on-year comparison, this Friday there will be a rise of 160.13%, since on August 12 of last year the price was 115.83 euros per MWh.
