The aforementioned initiative, which is part of the so-called Galdós Laboratory, launched last year as a unique experience driven in the field of the creation of the performing arts in Canary Islands, conceiving the public and the scenic agents as a vital and driving instrument of each and every one of the activities contemplated in its program that will conclude in 2020, will allow the production of the original street show entitled #todoesnavegar, which will be released on June 20 outside the capital's Coliseum and within the framework of the Fiestas de San Juan.

Produced by the Pérez Galdós Theater (Auditorium and Theater Foundation), and Unahoramenos, the 'Colaborador Galdós' has the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the Government of the Canary Islands, the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the SGAE Foundation (General Society) of Authors and Editors) and the collaboration of the city council of Agüimes.

Gemma Quintana, coordinator of the project, has been working since May 2018 with the different agents involved in the future street production. Serve as a meeting point between young people who are building their own creative curriculum within different areas of artistic and / or technical action, and make it possible for the arts to generate a meeting and generate links between society, young people and schools. artistic training, are the pillars on which the 'Galdós Collaborative' is based, which will also be held in 2020 during the academic year.

According to Quintana "the scenic arts operate as a kind of puzzle in which many professionals and diverse subjects concur that are absolutely essential both in the work process and in the final result of a production." With this interdisciplinary project we want to show the talent of the new generations of creators to the citizenship, turning it into an artistic project motivated and sustained by professionals of the sector. Collaborative Galdós It constitutes the ideal space for multiple learning and to unite different creators who share their forms of expression around the same objective: to know and make known the figure of an artist, Galdós, through art ", he adds.

Quintana is accompanied in the project that concludes in four months with the staging of street assembly #todoesnavegar, by the playwright Luis O'Malley, the coordinator of aldermen, Tony Perera, the choreographer Edu Medina and the musician and composer Saulo Valerón. Since last October the coordinator meets weekly at the IES Pérez Galdós with two groups of students of the Performing Arts Baccalaureate to analyze the literary clues of the famous novelist who wrote the works. National Episodes and find the points of a connection that would link the nineteenth century with the present. Some ten novels or plays have been worked as a group.

The person in charge of the project advances that the dramaturgical idea that moves the aforementioned show is a quote contained in Luchana, one of the National Episodes of Galdós that says: "Everything is sailing, everything is a continuous fight. (€) Art and courage not to drown". The ship, the sea, the relationship of Galdós and ours with the island, the creation € are elements that will be very present in the show ".

In addition, we work especially in the design of the collective creation show that arises from the different artistic interests of the students. From the study of several works, each group has formulated a staged exhibition, from which the different scenes that will constitute the show '#todoesnavegar' have been constructed.

For the 2019/2020 academic year, the same centers will be invited together with the IES Josefina de la Torre and Santa María de Guía. For the 2019/2020 academic year the same centers will be invited together with the IES Josefina de la Torre and Santa María de Guía (where the Performing Arts Baccalaureate is also taught).

According to Cristina del Rio, delegate of the SGAE in the Canary Islands, the collaborative project "is a wonderful initiative that, in addition to vindicating and highlighting the dimension of the work of the Canarian novelist, gives us the opportunity to remember that Galdós was One of the first presidents that the Society had in its beginnings, we have to celebrate that so many young people participate in the Collaborative that act in their supervised process not only developing their career and their abilities within the framework of this multidisciplinary experience, but also as future creators at the service of the performing arts. "

On the other hand, Leandra Cubas, a lecturer in the Higher Education and Polytechnic University of Gran Canaria's Higher Education, appreciates the project "for its motivating spirit for first-year students who are allowed to maintain real contact with the job functions for which they will be prepared in the future in the scope of all the production phases conceived for the premiere in June of a street show ". Cubas regrets that projects such as the Galdós Collaborative are not carried out more frequently in the Canary Islands, taking advantage of collaboration synergies between the educational community and the cultural sector through the production companies, "since alternative training and experimentation platforms outside the classroom allow always to the students a more peripheral and real vision of the own professions to which they will be linked in the future ".
