The'Champions Night', appointment with the best amateurs - The Province

Talent boxing in La Gallera del López Socas. Next Friday, November 16 will be the second edition of 'Champions Night 'in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, organized by Werdum Boxing Event (WBE) by the promoters Jesús Pérez and Iván Santana.

This second edition will be called 'Flyweight Boxing Champion' and how could it be otherwise will take place in what has become the boxing temple of the island, La Gallera del Lopez Socas located in the capital of Gran Canaria.

The evening will be attended by the best amateur boxers of the islands, and with a large part of the granary representatives of the junior and young Canarian team that went to the Junior and Young Boxing Championship of Spain played in Béjar (Salamanca) between October 30 and November 4, as for example national medalists like Zuleima Gonzalez and Yanfe Santana, who managed to be silver in this competition, will be present on the night of November 16.

The organization wanted to thank the support of the Department of sports of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, directed by Aridany Romero, the fundamental institutional support to carry out this type of sporting events, as well as the Gran Canaria Federation of Boxing for the availability and the good work in each event that takes place, in special to its directors Gustavo Sarmiento and Antonio Pulido, for collaborating selflessly with the organization of Werdum Boxing Event.

Tickets are already on sale in advance at the price of 10 euros in many gyms on the island that collaborate with the event and can also be purchased at 12 euros the same day of the evening.

Solidary contribution

On the other hand, it is worth highlighting the noble initiative of the organizers who will donate 20% of the proceeds for the family of Yeray 'el Pera', ex-boxer and soul of the Pera Boxing club so that they can continue in their main fight: the recovery of his son Yeray.

After being diagnosed with a brain tumor for the first time at eight years of age, the small Yeray, now with 13 years, accumulates 28 visits to the operating room, the last, since in the month of June that evil was reproduced. The great battle of the family of 'Bébe', as his family tells him, is to raise around 200,000 euros to pay for his stay at the Guttmann Institute, located in Barcelona, is a reference neurorehabilitation center in Spain.
