The Young Orchestra of the Canary Islands opens the term to select new musicians

The deadline for submitting the application will be open until June 25, 2021. The bases are available in the Calls section of www.icdcultural.org and they require that applicants be natives of the Canary Islands or residents of the islands; be born between January 1, 1993 and December 1, 2003; and be a student of musical education or have completed studies in the last four years.

Applications can be submitted until June 25 by electronic means

The squares are designed for musicians who do not belong to any professional symphonic ensemble and who have not previously belonged to the Young Orchestra of the Canary Islands. Those who do not meet these requirements, but demonstrate an adequate level in the recordings, may be included at the discretion of the court in a database to be summoned to any activity of the Jocan as guest musicians, if the project so requires.

The training is currently made up of more than 170 young musicians from the islands and is a training and artistic project of the Government of the Canary Islands that began in December 2016.

In its first four years, the Jocan has performed 64 concerts, which have been received by great interest from critics and the public. More than 27,000 people have been spectators of the evolution and growth of this young orchestra with continuous attendance at its concerts.

La Jocan, both in symphonic and chamber formation, has established itself as a great orchestra in the artistic-musical aspects, as the artistic director Víctor Pablo Pérez, the audience and the participating teachers have warned, who have indicated the value and the talent of the young Canarian musicians.
