In its third edition, the SPAR Gran Canaria Youth Talent Scholarship rewards the young gymnast from Gran Canaria, María Juste Marrero, aged 11, who stands out for simultaneously practicing three different sports, such as trampoline jumping at the Metropole Swimming Club and at The La Playa Gymnastics Club practices women's artistic gymnastics and trampoline. In 2021, she managed to rise as the winner in women's artistic gymnastics at the regional level and at the national level in springboard jumps of 1, 3 and 5 meters.

The supermarket chain received 18 applications presented individually and by sports teams, all of them brilliant due to the talent of the candidates, among which María Juste stood out, who at her young age practices two disciplines simultaneously: trampoline jumping and gymnastics, the latter in the modalities of artistic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics, "at a maximum level, without diminishing her academic performance, in which she has obtained exceptional grades, while practicing various disciplines that, although they have similarities in their base, are some of the most demanding sports on a physical, technical and psychological level«, they highlighted from the La Playa Gymnastics Club, of which the young athlete is a part.

Her gymnastics club stands out from María's career that «in her first year competing in vaults she managed to become champion of Spain, achieving three golds and one bronze, and rose to third place in the Canary Islands in the women's artistic gymnastics modality. During this year she has managed to extend her titles, proclaiming herself runner-up in the Canary Islands in gymnastics and achieving two bronze medals at the national level in the vault modality. With a very promising future, and thanks to her evolution, Maria will participate in upcoming competitions in a higher category."

In previous editions, the SPAR Gran Canaria 'Youth Talent Scholarship' has promoted the talent and artistic and cultural projection of the young violinist from Jinámar, Gabriel Meneses Franco, contemplating the purchase of his first De Lutier violin, as well as the registration of his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria during the six years that his musical training will cover, with all the teaching material necessary for his studies: books, strings and scores, as well as his transport costs to the Conservatory. Also, in its first edition, the scholarship was awarded to the young chess player from Gran Canaria, Jenny Sanabria, who covered the costs of the trip and the participation in the World Individual Chess Championship, held in Greece in 2018.
