The strong wind that has been registered this Thursday in the Canary Islands This afternoon has caused some incidents such as falling branches or trees in different parts of the islands, has informed the emergency service 1-1-2.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife have been the three cities in which the highest number of incidents have been registered although none of them have been serious.
In La Laguna, an emergency device had to intervene this afternoon due to the fall of two trees.
In the morning, the highest number of incidents was related to rain and the emergency coordinating center received several alerts for sewer problems on the roads and the need to drain water in different parts of La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Likewise, alerts related to roadside landslides, falling palm trees, poles and wiring in Tacoronte, Santa Úrsula, Adeje, Arona and the capital of Tenerife.
The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies yesterday decreed the alert for strong winds in Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
