The vice president of Ecuador, María Alejandra Vicuña, will begin tomorrow a visit to Spain, where she will seek to position her country as an investment destination and will analyze possible lines of cooperation, it was officially announced today.
In a statement, the Vice Presidency indicated that Vicuña will remain in Spain until October 26 and that it will participate in Madrid in the meeting "Somos Iberoamérica: Legislating for the Economic Empowerment of Women", organized by the Spanish Government, UN Women and the Secretariat General Ibero-American
At the meeting will address gender issues related to the economic empowerment of women, said the Vice President in the letter.
In Valencia, Vicuña will sign a memorandum of understanding with the NEFTAN Society and the company Aguas de Valencia S.A. for investment in the water, agriculture, and the Popular and Solidarity Economy sectors of Ecuador, with an amount of 450 million dollars.
The vice president will also visit the Mondragón Corporation, "world reference for cooperative work", made up of more than 100 autonomous and independent cooperatives and which constitutes the first Basque business group and the tenth in Spain, according to the official note.
Among other activities, Vicuña will hold a meeting with the migrant community to publicize the benefits offered by the Government led by Lenin Moreno, to the Ecuadorian compatriots.
