The National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) today expressed its "satisfaction" for the "perfect" functioning "of its system during the simulation carried out throughout the country, a test that precedes in almost a month the elections to elect councilors who They will celebrate next December.
"All the elements have been put to the test and we can all evaluate them with satisfaction (…), this national simulation of voting has worked within the expected absolutely, fulfilling all the protocols," the vice president of the CNE, Sandra Oblitas, told reporters. .
The simulation of this Sunday was developed in 373 centers across the country and was guarded by 10,000 soldiers, said today the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Armed Forces, Remigio Ceballos.
In Caracas, Efe was able to verify that in some points the participation of the citizens was timid, as it usually happens during these processes prior to the elections.
Oblitas also said that the process developed "without any violent incident".
A number of voter participation or parties was not offered, although the CNE has said that 51 political organizations will participate in the elections of councilors, among them the opponents Social Christian COPEI, Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS) or Avanzada Progresista (AP), who attended the presidential elections in May.
