The Valencia added to the Leganés a new tie and they're going five consecutive in its stadium since the start of the championship, in a match in which the whole of Madrid took the lead thanks to a penalty indicated to the referee from the VAR area and tied Valencian in the final minutes.
Marcelino's team avoided in the final stretch of the clash, based on push, a defeat that would have been undeserved before a rival that did not generate a single clear chance of goal, although the tie prevents him from taking off in the championship.
At the start of the game Valencia imposed his game, but from the first minutes showed the evil that afflicts this season, the difficulty to generate chances. Little helped Cheryshev's early injury, which forced Gayà to multiply on the left wing.
The Leganés did not put complications in Valencia behind, abusing the game horizontally and with little depth in their actions.
Marcelino's had the first clear option to score in a recovery in Leganés field that allowed Parejo to go only to the end line but his center parallel to the goal line cleared Silva prevented Gameiro from finishing off at will.
In this equator of the first act were the best moments of Valencia. In the 25th minute, the hosts signed the best collective move in attack but Gameiro missed a goal, as his shot from close range in the small area miraculously was taken by goalkeeper Cuellar with his feet.
However, the Leganés again took possession of the ball and tempered the mood of a Valencia too predictable, who abused the ball driving and who lacked to print a greater speed to the circulation of his game to try to decompose to the firm defense of the madrileños.
In the resumption, Valencia tried to print a greater pressure and lock the Leganés. Marcelino gave entrance to Batshuayi on the side Piccini in search of victory, but it was the Leganés who found the goal thanks to the VAR.
In one of his few approaches, Tarin was ahead of Garay and he gave him a kick in the area. Churches Villanueva let follow the game but at the request of the VAR reviewed the play on television and decreed maximum penalty that materialized Gumbao in the 0-1.
After a few minutes of inaccuracies and nervousness, Valencia managed to focus and seal the Leganés in a monologue in search of the goal. Although he lacked clarity in his actions, on the basis of thrust, Marcelino's team achieved a draw, five minutes from the end, after a shot by Gayà that got poisoned after hitting a defender.
Valencia looked desperately to finish the comeback. Gameiro had it but his shot, after beating the Cuéllar goal, the defense took him out before the desperation of Mestalla that still does not see his team win this season.
