The Office of the Vice President for Communication and Social Projection, in collaboration with the Occupational Risk and Prevention Service, has compiled on the institutional website www.ulpgc.es the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare, as well as the Canary Islands Government and the Spanish Internationalization Service (Sepie ), so that the university community has all the necessary data to deal with the health emergency generated by Covid-19 (coronavirus).
The statement of the ULPGC notes that, as new developments arise, the information will be updated. Specifically, today, March 11, the following information has been published:
The Office of the Vice President for Communication and Social Projection has informed the deans and directors of ULPGC Centers that, as a preventive measure, and following the instructions of the health and academic authorities that recommend avoid trips and transfers, as well as meetings that concentrate a high number of people, the decision has been taken to suspend the Open Day 2020, which was scheduled to be held on March 20 this month on university campuses with high school students and Higher Vocational Training.
Likewise, the Vice-Rectorate for Degrees and Permanent Training, at the request of the students themselves and taking into account that the students of the Special Formative Programs is a coronavirus risk group, has communicated the decision of the Rector to suspend until after Easter week, teaching from Wednesday March 11 in these courses for over 55 years, following the recommendations of the health authorities regarding the elderly.
As regards mobility students, two communications from the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (Sepie) are transferred on the situation in different European states and the recommendations to be taken into account, as well as on the management of Erasmus + projects .
