For the second consecutive year, the You Taburiente got the bronze medal in the Queen's Cup of grass hockey. The group from Gran Canaria won the consolation final at the host club of the copera event, the Atletic Terrassa, 1-0.
The technical team of 'Tabu' managed to recover the team emotionally after Saturday's defeat in the semifinal against the SPV Complutense by 0-4. Coach Eugenio Paulón reinvented the team without the presence of one of its leading players in the attack, Stefi Antoniazzi, that could not be of the game after hurting his shoulder when hitting a ball in the previous clash.
A penalty kick turned into goal by Gisele Juárez at 20 minutes of the game he rewarded the great match of the UD Taburiente.
"We are very happy and super proud of the girls," said Eugenio Paulón, who apostilled that bronze at the end of the competition "It is a medal more than deserved."
"Hopefully this result allows us to change the dynamics in the league and it helps us to continue growing, to be able to start the second round with options to place the team where it really deserves to be, "added the top technical head of the Canarian representative in the highest category of national women's grass hockey.
