The tribute to Mecano 'Daughter of the moon', in the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus - La Provincia

The songs of Mecano, the most important group of Spanish pop of the 80s and 90s, return on Saturday March 23 to sound in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium thanks to the show 'Hija de la luna', a tribute concert that stars the actress and Sevillian singer Robin Torres. Produced by Spyro Music and the Auditorium and Theater Foundation, this show that commemorates'AiDalai Tour', the last tour that Mecano did 25 years ago. The good reception it is receiving before the Canarian public has meant that the tickets for the 9:00 pm session are practically sold out, so the company will do another function at 6:00 p.m.

The concert offers the public a cloned reproduction of the legendary group, becoming a musical show considered by the critics as "the best national tribute to Mecano". The physical and vocal resemblance of Robin Torres with Ana Torroja is evident and is the key to the success of this show over any other tribute. 'Daughter of the moon', which since 2015 has traveled the Spanish geography, stops for the first time in Gran Canaria.

Its protagonist, Robin Torres, became popular as a result of his participation in 2015 in the talent show 'La Voz', not only for the cadence of his voice but for his interpretative capacity. The band that accompanies Torres is composed of Antonio Villalba (keyboard, guitar and choirs), Emilio Villalba (keyboard, guitar and choirs), Jesús Chávez (keyboard, guitar and choirs), Santi López (drums) and Paco Álvarez (electric bass guitar ). The repertoire is composed of the themes of the tour 'AiDalai Tour' and other great successes that Mecano left out on that occasion. The songs are performed respecting 100% the original arrangements and musical and instrumental training. In addition, the show reproduces the scenography of the original show, the costumes and the marked choreographies. Mecano's music and the themes that he tried without hesitation in the lyrics of his songs (homosexuality, religion, prostitution, AIDS, loneliness , disenchantment, drugs, love, indifference or jealousy) are still relevant two generations after its creation.

The tickets for these two concerts, they can be purchased at the box offices of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from Pérez Galdós Theater, from 10:00 to 15:00 hours at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium; as well as on the web pages www.auditorioteatrolaspalmasgc.es, www.auditorio-alfredokraus.com and teatroperezgaldos.es. On the day of the concert the Auditorium box office will remain open two hours before the start of the show.
