The trial for
lawsuit filed by Christian Roig for workplace harassment and invalid dismissal against Karel Mark Chichon, titular and artistic director of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra (OFGC), the OFGC Foundation and Antonio Morales, president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, was yesterday pending that the lawyers of the parties
present their conclusions in writing at the beginning of Septemberafter which it will be seen for sentencing.

On this Tuesday morning
Karel Mark Chichon gave a statement from a courthouse in Malagawhere he resides, at the express request of José María Domínguez Silva, the plaintiff's lawyer.

The British musician did not attend the hearing held on July 1 at Social Court No. 9 in the capital of Gran Canaria, presided over by the
Judge Jennifer Rocío Álamo.

I had covid-19

The attorney for the director of the OFGC,
David Francisco Fernandez Garrido, presented to the judge a medical certificate from Chichon in which he confirmed that he was ill after contracting covid-19. Despite having a power of attorney that enabled him to respond on behalf of his representative, Christian Roig's legal representative insisted on questioning Chichon directly, because he wanted to address
"personal questions", as he said last July 1. Her request was accepted by Judge Jennifer Rocío Álamo, who accepted the formula that became effective this Tuesday.

The sources consulted by this newspaper detailed that in his statement Karel Mark Chichon clarified that during the time that Roig held the position of manager of the OFGC his communications were through emails because
“believe in this type of correspondence”especially when there is a disparity of opinions, in order to eliminate any type of misunderstanding.

José María Domínguez Silva also asked him about the ins and outs of hiring the singer Elina Garanca for one of the season ticket concerts. Chichon replied that the mezzo-soprano would have to answer that question and not him, even though she is his wife.

The same answer was obtained on the questions that he raised regarding the president of the Cabildo and the OFGC Foundation, Antonio Morales.

Lawyers were also present at Tuesday's statement.
José Losada, representing the OFGC Foundation, and Begoña García Rodríguez, lawyer for Antonio Morales.

None asked Chichon any questions. Yes, they were made by his lawyer, David Francisco Fernández Garrido, who took the floor once the representative Christian Roig Puig's turn ended.
