Transgrancanaria returns six years later to Agaete And he does it in a big way. Puerto de las Nieves will be the starting point for the Advanced modality, which this year modifies its distance to extend it to 80 kilometres. The northern municipality will become one of the epicenters of the trail party, which will be held between February 22 and 26, 2023, by also hosting the second edition of the El Gigante Vertical Kilometer from El Valle.

The inclusion of the fishing village to kick off the Advanced marks a return to the origins of
Transgrancanaria. For years, brokers
the Classic arrived at night at the old Las Nieves pier to, from there, depart for Tamadaba and enter the paths of the Island until reaching the finish line.

For the 2023 edition of Transgrancanaria, the new Advanced route, which will be held on Saturday, February 25, will start from this same point. The runners will face a first climb with more than
1,300 meters of positive elevation gain to the top of the Pico de la Bandera, in the Tamadaba Natural Park. The route will continue until it reaches Artenara, where it will connect with the queen event to Parque Sur in Maspalomas, which will host the arrival of the three longest races in what will be the culmination of the trail party that will take place on the Island.

The municipality of Agaete will also be in charge of kicking off the next edition with the dispute for the second consecutive year of the KV El Gigante, which begins on Wednesday, February 22, in the neighborhood of San Pedro to face a hard slope until the Era of Berbique and ending in Tamadaba.
