The Tour de France 2019, live

The Tour de France started Saturday with a tribute to Eddy Merckx, the man who has worn the yellow jersey more often, a garment that turns one hundred years old.

The first stage, 195,5 kilometers flat around the Belgian capital, with a passage through Charleroi, visits some of the cities that have marked the life of the "cannibal", his birthplace, where he spent his childhood or where he achieved his first professional victory

The race has begun in the Grand Plaza of the Belgian capital and, although in the first part of the journey included two small ports, usual of the classic Ardanesa, most of the route is flat and everything suggests that the first leader of the Tour de 2019 will be a "sprinter".
