The co-president of the European group of Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) of the European Parliament, Ryszard Legutko, today congratulated the Vox party for its results in Andalusia.
"I am convinced that success in Andalusia is only the beginning in the necessary consolidation of your party for the good of Spain", is the message of the Polish MEP Ryszard Legutko to Vox to which Efe has had access.
The politician of the Euro-skeptic party Law and Justice is one of the ECR MEPs who visited the fence of Melilla with Vox leader Santiago Abascal last weekend, hours before the Andalusian elections.
"Congratulations to our friends from Vox with whom we recently had the opportunity to learn about the worrying immigration situation in Melilla," added the Pole in his message to Abascal.
From ECR they did not want to speculate on the hypothesis of the entrance of Vox in its Europarlamentario group if is that in the elections to the European Parliament of May of 2019 the Spanish formation of extreme right obtains representation.
"I do not think there were formal contacts as a group, but contacts of individual ECR members with Vox, nothing is done until May," sources told Efe, which is the third group in seats in the European Parliament after the popular and social democrats.
The Polish delegation aspires to be the most powerful ECR in the next term, when the British Conservatives will not be there, who formed the group when in 2019 they left the European People's Party in the community chamber.
