The TC states that the processing of the disconnection laws violated the right of participation

El TC declara que la tramitación de las leyes de desconexión vulneró el derecho de participación

The plenary of the Constitutional Court (TC) has estimated a resource of several deputies of Ciutadans in the Parliament and has ruled that the right of political participation of these parliamentarians was violated by the agreements of the Bureau and the Plenum of the Parlament of the procedure of the law of the referendum, which was finally approved on September 6, 2017.

According to a note from the TC, the agreements of the plenary session of the Parliament "altered the agenda of the session of said body and abolished all the regulatory and legal procedures required to allow the aforementioned bill to be directly submitted to debate and voting." The Court's ruling reasons that there were "procedural defects in the parliamentary procedure of the law, when articulating an unusual legislative procedure not foreseen in the regulations of the Chamber".
