Wednesday May 5th. First meeting of the Coordination Council of Podemos without Pablo Iglesias. The party’s co-founder, leader and headliner since January 2014 has resigned less than 24 hours earlier and is absent from the appointment of the body that has to start the process for his succession. Chance wants that, for your position, Ione Belarra lead the meeting, in the absence of a general secretary. Or a general secretary, actually. The newly appointed Minister of Social Rights will announce in the coming days her intention to run to replace Iglesias at the head of Podemos, the first and only party in which this Navarrese born in 1987 and which comes from social activism for the rights of migrant people.
