The Supreme imputes Alberto Casero for several irregular contracts during his time as mayor of Trujillo

The Supreme Court has decided to charge Alberto Casero, deputy of the PP, and calls him to testify on June 20 for a possible crime of administrative prevarication. The Justice investigates several contracts awarded in an allegedly irregular way when he was mayor of the Extremaduran town of Trujillo. It is a request for him to declare voluntarily and if he does not do so, the criminal chamber will have to request a request from the Congress of Deputies.

The Supreme Court decided to open a case against Alberto Casero a few weeks ago after receiving a reasoned statement from an Extremaduran court supported by the Prosecutor's Office. The researchers have the magnifying glass on five contracts awarded in his last term as mayor of Trujillo. Some awards in which, according to the Prosecutor's Office, the mayor personally skipped all contracting procedures by avoiding public tenders, inspection reports or directly without informing the local administration that he himself directed.

One of the disputed payments is the hiring of a psychologist to attend to victims of gender violence, a case in which the Prosecutor's Office questions that the work was carried out and in which it highlights that, in addition, the attention to these victims depended on a specific body that was not involved in the procurement. Two contracts related to the promotion of the Cheese Fair are also being investigated and, finally, another one related to the Peruvian Chamber of Commerce in our country for a gastronomic event. In several cases, highlights the Prosecutor's Office, the council left the bills unpaid and different courts have condemned the City Council to pay the bills.
