‘Performative’ is not a concept that is in the RAE dictionary, but it is a term widely used in Linguistics and Sociology. Its most common use says that ‘performative’ would be something that by the mere fact of being named becomes action. For example, the expression ‘I swear’ would be ‘performative’. In politics it is also used to refer to an action that does not make anything explicit, but whose mere execution manifests a purpose.
