The sale of homes falls 9% in June and closes a flat first semester

The sale of homes in June fell 9% compared to the same month of 2018, up to 40,961 operations, according to provisional data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), which reflect that this indicator closed the first semester at levels similar to those than a year before.

With respect to May, the sale of houses plummeted 13.9%, according to the statistics of the INE, which being prepared with data from the registrars reflects operations closed before a notary months before.

In June, the sale of new homes decreased 7.8%, to 7,205 operations (17.6% of the total). The second-hand market fell by 9.2%, to 33,756 transactions (82.4% of the total), and broke with a run of 14 consecutive months in positive.
