The rise of the SMI will not affect the quotation of the minimum base of the self-employed


Hacienda guarantees to Podemos that the rise of the SMI in January will not affect the minimum contribution base of the self-employed. In accordance with a provision of the Social Security Law, the Treasury has transmitted it, in addition to the self-employed who earn less, the fee will be lowered.

Thus, Podemos achieves the first objective that led to the first meeting of the follow-up table of the budget agreement of the government and Podemos, held in Congress and attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, Secretary of Organization of Podemos, Pablo Echenique and Ione Belarra, deputy spokesperson of the party. The EFE Agency confirms that the meeting was cordial and preparatory, and that its objective was to see how the measures agreed in the budget plan could be implemented in the future.

Echenique has expressed his satisfaction after the outcome of the meeting and has assured that his parliamentary group has requested the Government the report prepared by experts, by order of the Ministry of Justice, on the reform of Universal Justice, and the opening of channels of dialogue more specific in addition to four tables, specific for housing, employment and social security, fight against gender violence and dependency.
