Rarely does an obvious question arise about the baby boom, that phenomenon characterized by an unprecedented rise in birth in just two decades: What will happen when these generations begin to die? What challenges will politicians have to face when European populations are drastically reduced? Will experts recommend raising pensions? We are used to analyzing our near future, but perhaps due to the shortness of the legislatures, we look with short lights. Hence, for example, the difficulty of convincing people that acting against climate change demands more than words and good intentions.
