The reported residence was sanctioned in February for lack of maintenance

The Community imposed in February 2019 a penalty of 24,204 euros to the private residence Archbishop Morcillo (which will be closed by the Government after the complaint of the Prosecutor) for lack of maintenance and cleaning, and for having menus that had not been supervised by staff skilled.

This has been confirmed to Efe sources of the Ministry of Social Policy and Family, who added that the sanction was also justified by having the center records and books of incidents without completing or without updating.

The Community of Madrid will close the residence on Saturday after verifying that the center is not guaranteeing adequate medical care, nor basic care to users, nor their proper nutrition.

The decision was made last Wednesday at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, which requested it after a routine visit made Monday by the attorney of Alcobendas specialist in disabilities in which found the state "deplorable" to the elderly and facilities.

A total of six elders remain this Friday in the private residence Arzobispo Morcillo, but to this day no user has yet asked the Community of Madrid to receive a "place of emergency" in a public center.

The relatives have assured that "in principle they would not have problems to relocate their relatives", either by taking them to their home or admitting them to other centers.
