The Rector receives the student awarded with a CaixaBank-Microsoft grant - La Provincia


The Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Rafael Robaina, accompanied by Vice-Chancellor of Students and Sports, Antonio S. Ramos Gordillo, they have received Naomi Noor Van der Velde Figueroa, student of Degree in Industrial Engineering and Product Development of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and a native of La Palma, who has been awarded a remunerated scholarship to work at CaixaBank and will participate in a mentoring program Microsoft.

CaixaBank and Microsoft recognize the best students of technical university careers in Spain. In this edition, 11 racing students have been recognized STEM-Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics- of Spanish universities.

They are offered a 6-month contract in practical format with the possibility of joining the entity at the end of this period. In addition, they will also benefit from a mentoring program taught by Microsoft, which offers advice on aspects related to the development of their professional career in the technology industry.

A total of 15 students from Canarian universities have participated in the first edition of these awards aimed at students enrolled in the last course of STEM courses - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

In this first edition of the Wonnow Awards, four students from Andalusia, two from Catalonia, one from the Basque Country, one from Cantabria, one from the Canary Islands, one from the Valencian Community and one from Madrid out of a total of 260 have been awarded. students from 59 Spanish universities that have participated.

With these awards, CaixaBank and Microsoft are committed to talent and promote diversity and the presence of women in the field of technology and science since the beginning of their professional career.
