'The rebellion of the southerners' arrives at the Teatro Pérez Galdós - La Provincia

The Auditorium and Teatr Foundationor and the City Council of Agüimes they present the musical The rebellion of the Southerners that, after the success of its premiere last November in Agüimes, arrives on February 8 to Pérez Galdós Theater of the Gran Canaria capital, with the collaboration of Cabildo of Gran Canaria.

The City Council of Agüimes and the Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas they produce this assembly with more than one hundred and fifty people among actresses and professional and amateur actors, musicians, vocalists, choir, neighbors and neighbors, and technicians who narrate, in the form of a symphonic poem, the historical events that occurred 300 years ago in the Southeast region of Gran Canaria. The call Mutiny Agüimes-Las Palmas has its origin in the dispute over the lands of Sardina, Llano del Polvo and Pozo Izquierdo, located then in the jurisdiction of Tirajana and belonging to the Crown, that the residents of the Villa de Agüimes, who worked clandestinely, claimed.

The Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas, with Rubén Sánchez Spider as a concertmaster and composed of 25 interpreters, will be directed by the teacher Ángel Camacho, musical director of the entire production. In addition, this musical work costumbrista will again have soloists of the stature of the tenor Dani Miranda, the baritone Héctor de Armas and the soprano Maite Robaina.

The libretto of this concert, which in its overture will offer the audience a few seguidillas of the poet Francisco Tarajano, is based on the work in verse made by the historian Faneque Hernández, which used texts as sources Antonio Bethencourt Y Vicente Suárez Grimón. The music belongs to the composer Filiberto Díaz.

The scenic direction is in charge of Nacho Cabrera, from the theater company The Republic. The sets, which reconstruct the scenarios where the events took place, are the work of Paco Suárez; and the period costumes have been given, in part, by the Canary Friends of the Opera and also produced by the designer José Ángel Dapresa.

During the show, the audience will enjoy the screening of an audiovisual on this historical fact of the island of Gran Canaria, one of the conflicts that occurred during the 18th century on the island.
