LA RAZÓN denies the information provided by an association of Ukrainians in Spain who have made false accusations against the ambassador of this country in Madrid, Anatoly Scherba.
Our newspaper received a press release from the "Union of Associations of Ukrainians in Spain for the monumentalization of Ivan Frankó", which allegedly represented 20 groups of citizens of this country, in which the ambassador was fraudulently accused of preventing the installation of a statue of the writer and thinker Iván Frankó in Madrid. The coordinator of the association, Andriy Yakubuv, ratified this information to LA RAZÓN.
From our newspaper we want to clarify that the information provided by this association is a "fake news", created to discredit the work of the diplomat, based on false reports and manipulated information. It should be noted that several initiatives have been promoted from the embassy to pay homage to Ukrainian personalities. This is the case of the agreement of the Consistory of Madrid and the Municipal Board of the district of Hortaleza, in which it was approved to give the name of the Ukrainian classical poet Lesya Ukrainka to a square that is next to the Ukrainian embassy in Spain.
