Spanish photojournalist Emilio Morenatti managed to enter Spanish homes thanks to his stark and moving portraits of some of the worst moments of the coronavirus pandemic. With his camera he also immortalized reunions between loved ones, and atypical images of what was called the new normal. A year later, his work is awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Photographic Report "for a moving series of photographs that takes viewers to the lives of the elderly in Spain who are fighting during the COVID-19 pandemic," as reported the American institution.
The Associated Press journalist, based in Barcelona, thus wins the most outstanding journalistic award in the world. In this photo gallery you can see some of his most important works.
