The PSG coach regrets "the joke in bad taste" he made by laughing at the idea of replacing the private plane with the train

The PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, has regretted his statements and his laughter after a controversy in which he and the player Kylian Mbappé responded between mockery to a journalist who asked about the possibility of changing the team's trips by private plane for the train when it came to short distances.

"Forgive me, I did not expect that question," Galtier told the journalist with a laugh. “To be honest with you, this morning I spoke with the company that organizes our trips to see if we can travel in a sailing car [vehículos con ruedas que se impulsan con la fuerza del viento]”, he continued.

"Sorry. It was not the right time. This joke is in bad taste, ”she has admitted. “Believe me, I am concerned about the problems of the climate, of our planet, I know the responsibility we have,” he continued. I have serious players, we are a club that takes care of itself. We went to Lille, we traveled by bus for two and a half hours during the day and two and a half hours on the way back. We are aware of what is at stake in terms of climate”, he added.

The apology comes after French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire criticized the reaction to the question and stressed that "everyone must take climate change seriously."
