The Prosecutor's Office asks for bail of 300,000 euros for the former security chief of BBVA for the Villarejo case

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has asked the judge of the National Court Manuel García Castellón to impose as a precautionary measure a bail of 300,000 euros to the head of security of the BBVA Julio Corrochano, for his relationship with the retired commissar and in custody José Manuel Villarejo in the framework of the work he was doing for the entity.

Corrochano had been summoned to testify this Friday as an investigator, given that it would be the interlocutor with Villarejo in its relations with BBVA, contracts for the provision of supposed intelligence services that lasted for a decade in exchange for millionaire amounts.

After appearing and availing himself of his right not to testify, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has requested that this precautionary measure be imposed on him, which the magistrate must now decide, according to legal sources.

On Friday, Inés Ochagavía, who replaced Corrochano in the position and another one of those responsible for the bank's security area, Nazario Campo Campuzano, also appeared. Both have accepted their right not to testify claiming that the cause is secret.

Meanwhile, the partner of Villarejo in the mercantile with which BBVA hired, Rafael Redondo, has appeared and has made a statement.
