The project'Laboratorio Galdós' successfully closes its first phase - La Provincia

The entities that have promoted the project Galdós Laboratory, produced by the Teatro Pérez Galdós and the Factoría Unahoramenos, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Government of the Canary Islands, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council and the collaboration of the City Council of Agüimes, they value very positively the results achieved in the different processes developed in the first edition of the aforementioned scenic project that will allow, until 2020, the production of three different theatrical productions. The first of them premiered last October in order to celebrate the dimension of the heritage of the universal Canarian writer on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of his birth (1843-2018) and the 100th anniversary of his death (1920-2020). .
The Galdós Laboratory has been articulating since last September as a unique experience impelled in the field of the creation of the scenic arts in the Canaries because it conceives the public and the scenic agents as a vital and driving instrument of each and every one of the activities which has contemplated its extensive program celebrated to date.
In a transversal way and during the production phase of the first of the planned theatrical productions, Ana, we will also be forgotten (premiered last October at the Pérez Galdós theater), the public in general and the school community has known how a show of the size of Mario Vega is coordinated and cooked. The production, which could see 1,300 people during the course of its three premiere performances scheduled in the capital's Coliseum, has also been released at the 31st edition of the Festival del Sur Encuentro Teatral Tres Continentes that takes place in Agüimes and the Tenerife Festival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
More than a thousand schoolchildren
Galdós Laboratory held in the stalls of the Pérez Galdós Theater a total of 18 deliveries (14 general and 4 for school) around the experience called Trial and error before the premiere of the work Ana, attended by 357 people as creative assistants. In addition, a total of 1,147 school children from 18 schools in Gran Canaria, mainly in the first and second years of the Baccalaureate, and also in the fourth year of ESO, where the subject of Performing Arts and Dance is taught, were able to enjoy the same activity. Trial and error, which will continue to be celebrated with the upcoming productions of 2019 and 2020, has allowed not only to the public to closely test the creative process alive and in transformation that a scenic work supposes, but to the director to know the concerns and visions of the spectators on the same and his own work.
During the first phase of the project they were organized in the context of the activity called State of the issue two round tables discussed at the Pérez Galdós theater and the Pérez Galdós House-Museum, themes related to Galdós theater and its current translation, with a notable audience attendance. In addition, in June the first dramatized reading of the text written by Correa was carried out by the actors and the director of the assembly, which was attended by a group of spectators invited to it. It was the first contact made by the actors involved with the first draft written by the aforementioned dramatist, who proposed in his text a free version of the famous work of Benito Pérez Galdós, Tristana
According to its promoters, the Galdós Laboratory has operated as the perfect framework to propose an enriching link between the creators of different generations and the citizenship, putting into play the matter of creation, experimentation and contemporary dramaturgy. The project has not finished, because the title quoted by Canary Irma Correa that will rotate through different scenarios of the Canary Islands, Peninsula and Latin America, will be added in 2019 the second production that will write the Colombian playwright Fabio Rubiano, whose provisional name is The crime of Fuencarral, and another third with which will end, in 2020, this monumental project.
