A woman's hands folded carefully the blue jacket that traveled 2,000 kilometers from Canillas de Aceituno (Malaga) to London's Kensington Palace. This knitwear has been released to a small textile business founded almost half a century ago that produces its products from a small village in the heart of the Axarquía, 53 kilometers from Malaga. George of Cambridge, son of William of England and Kate Middleton, wore the cardigan when he was not yet two years old, in May 2015, the day he went to meet his newborn sister at the hospital. A year and a half later, his sister Carlota took her. The photographers captured the label with the brand: Mi Lucero.

The headquarters of this family business run since 2003 by the brothers José and Daniel Martín Aranda does not have posters of any kind, its presence only betrays the noise of knitting. "We have made an effort to incorporate the latest technology," explains José, the eldest. "In the last two or three years we have bought at least four machines," adds Daniel. "And in addition it has been necessary to invest in computer science, since the programming has to be updated". Investments in machinery have meant that some years have not been profitable, although they currently have benefits. Her knitting machines knit garments without seams, something very appreciated in baby clothes. The brothers studied technical engineering specialized in knitting in Canet de Mar (Barcelona) and later worked in a factory in Toledo. However, when their father's retirement hour approached, they returned to town. "When we took over the business, we hired specific labor or campaigns," they recall. Today they have 18 employees, mostly women, and they manufacture 120,000 garments per year, of which 90% are sold in Spain. In 2017 they billed 847,000 euros.

Attached to the workshop, they have a store that has become a tourist attraction. Weekend visitors want to see, and buy, clothes like those worn by the little ones of British royalty. Hoods, caps with pompoms, toquillas, braids. But the star, is the blue jacket of Jorge and Carlota: the M1117 and that costs about 25 euros in stores. That garment was sold in a store in London's Chelsea neighborhood. It was bought by one of the caretakers of the children of the Dukes of Cambridge, María Teresa Turrión from Palencia.
