CANARY ISLANDS7 The Gran Canarian palms.

Radiotelevisión Canaria and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands signed last week the agreement that establishes the broadcast on Canarian Television of a
new program dedicated to the primary and agri-food sector in the Canary Islands under the title 'Agrocanarias.tv'.

The signing was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende; the CEO of GMR Canarias, Pablo Zurita; the sole administrator of RTVC, Francisco Moreno; and the journalist and gastronome expert Francisco Belín.

The new format, which Televisión Canaria premiered last Saturday at 2:00 p.m., is the final result of a contest carried out by GMR Canarias (Rural Environment Management) in search of a new television format that is more in keeping with the times, counting with the support of small producers from all the islands to collect weekly content.

'Agrocanarias.tv' is produced by 6 Canarian production companies, previously selected through a contest, who will be in charge of tracking the primary and agri-food sector of the islands, future projects, generational change and showing the products made in the archipelago, many of them unknown to the general public.

«We are sure that every week many Canarians will be pleasantly surprised to see and discover what is done on the islands, what is harvested, how it is processed and, above all, the number of 'Premium' products that are made in the archipelago and that are practically unknown»said the journalist Francisco Belín, who will become the host of the program every week.
