The average daily price of electricity in the wholesale market will mark this Sunday the most expensive in history, up to 160.42 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), despite the fact that it represents a decrease of 3.57% compared to that registered this Saturday (166.36 euros).
Compared to a week ago, it represents an increase of 9.4%, since then electricity was trading at 146.57 euros. Compared to two Sundays ago, the rise is 11.2% in relation to the 144.18 euros it registered.
However, as usual on weekends, when demand is lower, prices are slightly lower than on weekdays. In any case, it is stabilizing in recent weeks.
Since September began, when the price reached 132.4 euros, the price of electricity has been chaining one record after another. However, it has been ten days since the last highest in history was registered, of 188.18 euros, a level that has not yet been exceeded.
The highest price this Sunday will be between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., when it will reach 199 euros / MWh, while the lowest will be recorded between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., when it will trade at 134.1 euros.
