The president of the Argentine Central Bank resigns before the change of government

The president of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), Guido Sandleris, announced Wednesday that he is resigning, effective next Tuesday, when the Peronist Alberto Fernández will assume the Presidency of the South American country.

"I believe that our resignation paves the way for the president-elect to have absolute freedom to designate those he deems appropriate to implement his economic plan, including his monetary and exchange rate policy," Sandleris told a news conference.
