The president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, will announce tomorrow the names of the new authorities that will be part of his cabinet, after the November 22 request for the resignation of his team of collaborators, informed the National Communication Secretariat today.
In a statement that does not advance any name, the Secretariat indicates that the possession will take place at 12:30 local time (17:30 GMT) in the Yellow Hall of the Government Palace, located in the colonial quarter of Quito.
Moreno "will make the possession of the new authorities that are part of the ministerial cabinet, as part of the evaluation of his work team scheduled for the last weeks of 2018," the Secretariat indicates without further details.
Last Sunday, Moreno ratified Economy and Finance Ministers, Richard Martinez, and Foreign Affairs Minister, José Valencia, three days after having asked his entire cabinet to resign in order to evaluate the performance of each one of them.
This is the second occasion in which the president requested the resignation of his Cabinet of Ministers, after he did the same last May, a regular practice of Ecuadorian politics.
Moreno came to power in May 2017 and has since replaced or voluntarily renounced more than 60 percent of his ministers, national secretaries and advisors.
