The PP leads to Congress an initiative that vindicates the value of the Transition



The popular group in Congress has registered a proposal not of law, which will lead to the plenary session next week, in which it demands the "recognition and homage" of all Spaniards who participated in the Transition and urges the Government to continue defending the values ​​of the Magna Carta.

The text, recorded on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the Constitution, asks the Executive to join "this essential recognition of Spanish democracy" and to continue "defending in the future, the principles, values, rights and freedoms contained in the Constitution of 1978 ".

According to the exposition of motives of the proposition not of law, the popular ones consider that "today more than ever" it is necessary to vindicate the value of the Constitution "against radicalism, nationalism and populism, and it is the responsibility of all the firm defense, clear and emphatic of it ".

In the text, the popular group maintains that the Constitution of 78 is "without any doubt, the most suitable framework to continue growing as a country and as a society, and to continue to build together the future of Spain."
