The Deputy Secretary of Communication of the PP, Pablo Montesinos, has asked this Monday to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to “break his silence” and explain if he knew of the “alleged tip-off” of the Prosecutor’s Office to the second vice-president of the Government, Pablo Iglesias, related with the case of the theft of an adviser’s mobile phone.
As the PP has collected in a press release of an interview on Tele 5, Montesinos has considered that it is the responsibility of the Chief Executive to give explanations of the “Iglesias scandal”, since it was he – he said – who placed the leader of the Podemos in the Vice Presidency of the Government.
Montesinos thus referred to journalistic information that indicates that Iglesias’s lawyer handled key data on the case that anti-corruption prosecutors would have provided.
Judge Manuel García Castellón withdrew the status of injured party of the so-called Villarejo case from the second vice-president of the Government and leader of Podemos, in relation to the theft of the cell phone of his former adviser Dina Bousselham.
“Pedro Sánchez was the one who decided to place a radical, a sectarian person such as Pablo Iglesias, in the Vice-presidency of the Government. There is only one Council of Ministers and there is only one person responsible for that Government, and his name is Pedro Sánchez,” he assured. the secretary of Communication of the PP.
He also recalled that the PP’s general secretary, Teodoro García Egea, asked Pablo Iglesias at the last control session on this matter “and he did not deny it, he bowed his head.” “We demand that he show his face today,” added Montesinos, whose party has asked to appear in the Congress of Churches.
On the other hand, he defended that the PP leader, Pablo Casado, continues with “the outstretched hand” to respond to the economic crisis derived from the health crisis by COVID-19, and that he has proposed agreements in both economic and health matters .
“Everyone knows how little Pedro Sánchez likes to talk to the opposition leader. He practically has not called Pablo Casado for two months, which is a political abnormality,” he said.
In that interview, as the PP has collected in a press release, Montesinos has claimed that his party is inserted in “moderation, in centrality” and “in those economic policies that have a beneficial effect on the Spanish.”
