The four members of the herd of Callosa d'En Sarrià (Alicante), detained on January 1 as alleged perpetrators of sexual assault to a 19-year-old girl, they put fear wherever they went. In Benidorm, a city located about 20 kilometers from his residence, they were well known and nobody wanted to mix with them. Until this New Year's Eve they thought they were unpunished despite carrying a history of assaults, assaults and violations. They were so safe that they took the victim to the house of one of them, where they recorded all the aggression. Even in their own families they were fed up with them. It was the sister of one of the assailants who ended up denouncing them. The security forces are awaiting new accusations, since the youths are suspected of previous aggressions.
The whistleblower was in the upper part of the house while the events occurred, according to Civil Guard sources. At one point, he went down to the basement and discovered his brother and three of his friends, between 19 and 24 years old, around the victim, who was naked from the waist down. The woman immediately called the security forces. He told what he had seen and waited for his arrival. When breaking into the house, Civil Guard agents surprised in fragrance to three of the members of the group. One of them was about the girl. Another was pulling up his pants when the agents entered. The room was located shortly after.
The four were arrested on January 1 and three days later they went to court number 4 in Villajoyosa, where a judge decided to send them to Fontcalent prison in Alicante accused of a crime against privacy, another sexual assault and two sexual abuse . One of them already had a history of gender violence and sexual abuse against a minor.
During the arrest, officers discovered that the assailants had recorded all the assault. In it you can see how the victim tries to get away from the rape. However, the state in which it was found – intoxication and under the possible effects of a drug inhibiting the will – prevented him from defending himself. In fact, the researchers have requested that a complete toxicological study be carried out to clarify this point, since upon being attended to, the agents observed that they did not remember anything and showed evident symptoms of disorientation. "I could barely walk," the armed institute reported in a note. The results of this study, according to sources of the Efe research, may take a month or two to arrive.
While the investigation continues its course, the Civil Guard waits for the number of complaints filed against the members of this group to be extended. The agents of the Judicial Police of Villajoyosa and the post of Callosa d'En Sarrià suspect that there are at least two more cases of sexual assault on women that could be carried out by these same individuals, since they have similar characteristics. And, after their arrest, they do not rule out the possibility of any more arising, in case the possible victims feel more secure after seeing their attackers in prison.
In Spain, 1,305 attacks were reported with penetration between January and September 2018, according to the Ministry of the Interior. There are up to five violations per day, one every little more than four hours. And they represent an increase of 23% compared to 2017.
