The Pioneer: HBO prepares a documentary series about Jesús Gil | TV
HBO Spain will premiere this yeardocumentary about the life of Jesús Gil, ex-mayor of Marbella and former president of Atlético de Madrid. The pioneer, of four chapters of one hour, will include numerous archive images, unpublished personal material and exclusive interviews with key people in his career.
The series, pled by JWP (Death in León), is directed by Enric Bach with a script by Bach himself and Justin Webster. "Gil lived constantly defying the laws and was persecuted for years by the courts, which ended up intervening judicially at Atlético de Madrid and disqualified him as mayor of Marbella, "says HBO Spain." A story with elements that are now recognizable throughout the world and that lead us to question why we let ourselves be seduced or become myths to certain characters ".
Bach explains that the series about Gil has been "un project dreamed for years. "" The life of Jesus Gil has all the elements of a great history, starting with the most important: an unpredictable and dual protagonist, capable of putting in check the laws and institutions and at the same time seduce to spectators and voters with its enormous magnetism ", indicates the director of the project.
