The shows specially designed for the enjoyment of the whole family return at the Pérez Galdós Theater at the beginning of the season with the cycle ‘With the Family ‘. The productions grouped under this heading respond to the double mission of opening the Theater to all audiences and genres; as well as the intention of bringing art and culture closer to the youngest. These two purposes are fulfilled in The toy box Y Zorbalov and the magic organ, which will be represented in October and November in the capital’s coliseum.
The first date will be with The toy box which will have a double function on Sunday, October 18, at 11:00 and 18:00. The Granada Puppet Company Etc, founded by Enrique Lanz and Fabiola Garrido to stage musical works with puppets for all audiences, brings us one of the best-known musical stories for children in the history of music. Taking as a reference La boîte à joujoux, by Debussy and mixing it with other compositions such as The children’s corner Y The little black, Enrique Lanz creates this free version of the French composer’s work. On stage, a cast formed by the pianist Alexis Delgado, the actress Yanisbel Victoria Martínez and the puppeteers Araceli García, Rocío España, Carlos Monte and Migue Rubio.
As it is already a constant in the work of Etc, the space, the sets and the puppets, host numerous tricks, simple but effective, so that nothing is what it seems and everything is magically transformed before the spectators. Puppets, objects, shadows, video projections, a pianist and an actress, are put at the service of a musical work of reference in the compositions of the 20th century and offer a contemporary version for the boys and girls of today.
His shows for children have turned Etc is one of the most recognized and valued Spanish companies in this segment, obtaining in 2014 the National Award for Performing Arts for Children and Youth for “the quality and innovation of its creations throughout a wide trajectory in the realm of the traditional and contemporary puppet “. Also important have been his collaborations with the Liceo de Barcelona for twelve seasons, or with Real de Madrid, for eight seasons. The company is a leader in Spain in this genre, and with its work it has opened the door to large theaters and festivals that now host puppets in their programming. Video The toy box
The second appointment arrives on Sunday, November 8 at 12:30 p.m. through the International Bach Festival (IBF), which dedicates one of its days to the family audience with Zorbalov and the magic organ, a concert for the whole family with an original idea by Yanowski, based on a musical tale and a fantastic story that refers to ancient Slavic tales and in which music takes the lead through the violin of Bertrand Cervera, the double bass of Johane González and the piano of Stéphane Petitjean, mainly. It will be a show with original songs for the whole family and a set of masterpieces that coexist on the same stage.
Zorbalov and the magic organ tells the story of the tightrope walker Zorbalov to whom a witch gives an organ capable of making whatever she wants appear, as long as she chooses the right piece of music. This is the common thread that will lead children to enjoy the music of Kabalevsky, Khachaturian and Prokofiev in a playful way. Original songs and masterpieces thus coexist with joy and elegance in this show from the ‘With the Family’ cycle.
