The chancellor of Paraguay, Luis Alberto Castiglioni, today highlighted during the inauguration of a seminar in Asunción the importance of trade in landlocked countries, as is the case of Paraguay.
In the framework of this high-level meeting on the "Implementation in Paraguay of the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization", Castiglioni referred to the need for these countries to improve their insertion in global value chains so that they do not stay behind.
For this reason, the foreign minister defended the fluidity of trade and the insertion of Paraguay in the world as priority objectives of his country.
In addition, he recalled the active role of the country in the negotiations of the agreement.
Castiglioni, who took office in August, has shown in his speeches and interventions a supporter of improving business relations in Paraguay and has opposed protectionist currents.
In this seminar, representatives of the public and private sectors also participated, who presented the challenges posed by the application of this agreement in Paraguay.
With it, the country aims to advance transparency and improve customs controls to simplify and harmonize imports, exports and the transit of goods.
