Churches, which will charge 130,000 euros per year, the maximum expected in the public tender called by the Generalitat to fill this post after the resounding resignation of its predecessor, the Italian Davide Livermore, has cracked his project for the opera center three months after knowing his choice.

Livermore was the only important position that remained in the Palau de les Arts de the era captained by Helga Schmitd, what inaugurated the spectacular opera in 2005 with a budget of 44 million euros, now reduced to 22. Schmidt is now prosecuted for the alleged crimes of malfeasance, malfeasance and falsehood during his time at the helm of the Colosseum.

"We want to turn Les Arts into a musical theater that encompasses lyric music in all its manifestations: opera, zarzuela, musicals, symphonic concerts, choral and chamber music, lyrical concerts, lied; but also other genres such as jazz, flamenco, popular song or music from other cultures ", has underlined the until now director of the artistic department of the Duch National Opera & Ballet of the Netherlands and coordinator of the Royal Theater of Madrid during a decade.

The new artistic director wants to turn the Palau into a pole of cultural development beyond the opera, which will continue to be the heart of the project, and has set an example of the trajectory of other operas such as Lyon and Amsterdam. Around the music, it is planned to organize round tables, colloquiums and all kinds of activities related to the main musical program.

Iglesias explained that after the departure of the conductor Roberto Abbado, whose contract is about to expire, he works hand in hand with the members of the Palau orchestra in the profile of his successor.

Iglesias has appeared accompanied by the Valencian Minister of Culture, Vicent Marzà, and the president of the Board of Arts, Susana Lloret, who has described the project shelled by Iglesias as "round" because "he has an eye on the budget [no puede desbocarse], another eye placed on the public and another eye on excellence and the musical concept ".

The head of Valencian Culture, Vicent Marzà, explained that next November 6 is scheduled a meeting with the Minister of Culture, José Guirao, to address, among other issues, the expansion of its participation in Valencian cultural institutions such as the Palau of Arts Marzá has also confirmed, if not specified, that the budget of the opera house will grow in 2019.
