The Toledo Pact Commission debates to promote pension plans for companies with the agreement of social agents and within the framework of collective bargaining, as long as the sufficiency of the public pension system is guaranteed.

The spokespersons of the Pact of Toledo continue today the analysis of the recommendations that must be submitted to the Plenary of Congress to guarantee the sustainability and financing of Social Security and have addressed recommendation 16 that affects complementary systems.

Parliamentary sources close to the Commission have indicated that there is a consensus to consolidate and strengthen the pension system first and then promote complementary social welfare plans, very widespread in the Basque Country.

The socialist spokesperson in the Pact of Toledo, Mercè Perea, has told EFE that it must be made clear that the complementary systems "are not substitutes" and that they must also be addressed within the framework of collective bargaining and "once decent wages have been recovered" "

The recommendation on complementary systems for 2011 called on the social partners to seek complementary formulas through pension funds and schemes in their form of employment, while recommending that the tax benefits of these business plans should be balanced. , in terms of gender equality.

He also requested that they be encouraged within the tax system that affects Corporate Tax.

Precisely, the social security entity Geroa Pentsioak, belonging to the Spanish Confederation of Mutual Societies (CNEPS), presented a report in the Pact of Toledo for companies to have tax incentives such as the recovery of deductions in the Corporate Income Tax. or with the elimination of contributions from the contribution base.

Regarding the worker, this entity urged to improve the treatment of the collection of benefits in the form of income and to the business plans were voluntary.

It also recommended that Social Security comply with its commitment to information on the estimation of the future pension and estimated that 70% of Spaniards admit to being poorly informed about their future retirement.

The president of the CNEPS, Pedro Muñoz, also asked the members of the Toledo Pact to "generalize" the plans of complementary social security with tax incentives to the average and low incomes because, in his opinion, it would strengthen the public pension system and apply it. , also, in the sector of the self-employed.
