The Orange ERE takes up the layoffs among the large telecoms, which have eliminated 10,000 jobs in five years
Although much of the attention has been taken by the large EREs in banking, in recent months other large job cuts have been taking place in some of the country's most important companies. This is the case, for example, of El Corte Inglés, or, more recently, of Orange. The French 'teleco' caught the workforce by "surprise", as the unions pointed out, by announcing an ERE for 485 people a month ago. Although successive meetings have reduced that initial figure, Orange's plan involves resuming the path of layoffs among the country's large telephone operators after an exceptional 2020 in which the workforce was increased.
The Government lowers the starting price of the 5G auction after pressure from the 'telecos' to 995 million
