The official mourning for the deceased of coronavirus has begun this Monday in the Community of Madrid, where the Madrid flag will fly at half-staff in public buildings where its use is mandatory by decree of the regional government, which also invites a minute of silence. at noon.

This mourning does not have an end date at the moment, according to the decree signed by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The regional government invites us to observe a minute of silence at noon in tribute to those killed by COVID-19 in the Community of Madrid and in the rest of Spain.

In addition, from this Monday on, a fragment of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings will sound from the main balcony of the Royal Post Office, headquarters of the regional government.

The regional government has encouraged the 179 municipalities in the region that wish to join this initiative.

The Community of Madrid has exceeded 3,000 deaths of people infected with coronavirus, after adding 325 deaths in 24 hours to a total of 3,082 deaths, while known infections, although they continue to grow, do so at a slower rate, at 5.37 % according to data provided this Sunday by the Ministry of Health.

The deaths that occurred in the Community of Madrid accounted for 47.2% of the 6,528 deaths that occurred in all of Spain, while the infections detected were 28.72% of the total in the whole country, of 78,797.
